Dalene & Joel {Deckerville Wedding Photographers}

It’s kind of amazing how Joel and Dalene found us for their wedding. Joel’s family ran into Beth’s mother at the post office where she works when they were buying stamps for the wedding. They got to chatting about the wedding and the fact that they were still looking for a photographer, Beth’s mom mentioned that her daughter owns a photography studio…and the rest is history!

It’s always fun when I (Bri) get to head over to the Thumb for a wedding, since I grew up in that area. Joel and Dalene’s wedding ceremony took place at her family’s church in Deckerville and it looked absolutely beautiful. Joel, Dalene and their families put together gorgeous decorations perfect for a winter wedding.

Dalene and her girls got ready in the basement of the church. Dalene was such an easy bride to photograph, since she was basically smiling all day! It was easy to see that she was thrilled to be marrying the love of her life.

Joel looked very handsome on the big day and couldn’t wait to see his bride.

Dalene’s niece was the flower girl and did her job perfectly, along with her bear (so cute!):

During the dismissal of guests, I was able to snag the marriage license and a Bible for a few minutes to get a few ring shots:

We headed outside after formal photos with the wedding party and made sure to get some shots of the girls in their furry shawls (a gift from Dalene):

We were able to just catch the sunset before we headed over to the reception (no snow on the ground because it was a balmy 50 degrees that day!)

The reception was also (of course) beautifully decorated.

At the end of the night, Joel and Dalene braved the cold evening winds to head outside for some night portraits:

Joel and Dalene, may God bless you in your marriage! It was a pleasure working with you!
