Gage & Shayna {Destination Wedding, Sandals South Coast, Jamaica}

Yay, destination weddings! I was absolutely thrilled to be asked to photograph Gage and Shayna’s wedding at Sandals South Coast in Jamaica last month. Gage is the son of an old friend of ours, Wendy, and it was great working with her and her family, along with Shayna’s family!

This was my first time staying at an all-inclusive resort and Nate (my husband) and I loved it! The property was absolutely gorgeous with all beachfront rooms, multiple pools, water sports activities and restaurants. Gage and Shayna chose to have their wedding ceremony on the beach and while they also wanted to have their reception on the beach, the rainy weather changed their plans and their reception was held in a ballroom, which was gorgeous as well.

We were a bit worried about rain all week and while it did rain here and there throughout the day, we were able to spend about 45 minutes with Gage and Shayna on the beach after the ceremony for portraits and the cloudy sky was perfect for photos!

Gage and Shayna got ready in separate rooms and we took some family photos and other portraits before the ceremony started.

When the ceremony started, the rain was holding off, but right before their first kiss as husband and wife, the rain started up again and a member of the Sandals staff had to break out an umbrella for the bride and groom!

After the ceremony, we headed up to the main building and used their covered porch area for family portraits. When we gathered everyone in attendance for a big group shot, Nelson, one of the many amazing staff members at Sandals, jumped in for a few photos!

I loved working with Gage and Shayna along the beach for portraits. They are super cute together and easy to photograph. Of course, I’m happy to work on a beautiful beach any day as well!
