Oh, I just loved working with Karlee and Thomas! I’m so glad they chose us to capture their beautiful wedding day at Horizons Conference Center in Saginaw. We photographed Karlee’s brother’s wedding a few years ago and we were so happy to be working with her family again. They are warm and friendly. It was our first time working with Thomas’ family and we just loved them too! His parents are too cute.
I loved the color scheme and decor that the bride and groom chose and I really loved Karlee’s dress. It had a low back, and then she added a beautiful beaded piece to her shoulders that hung down the open back. It was the first time I had seen something like that and it was stunning. Thomas was such a handsome groom and he and his groomsmen were great to photograph.
Both the ceremony and reception were held at Horizons and between, we went to Imerman Memorial Park (right down the road) for pictures of the wedding party and bride and groom. The light was absolutely perfect and I could have kept photographing Karlee and Thomas until the sun went down! But after a little bit, we headed back to the reception so the bride and groom could make their grand entrance. And what an entrance it was! Everyone participated in a zaffa, a traditional entrance in Arab culture. It was amazing! Everyone danced with the bride and groom on the dance floor before they danced over to cut the cake, then danced some more!
After dinner, First Call, the live band for the night, kept the dance floor absolutely packed! They were so much fun and so talented! It was a wonderful night of celebration of the new Mr. and Mrs.!
Karlee and Thomas, thank you so much for letting me be a part of your day! I’m so glad I got to know you and photograph the first day of your married life! – Bri
(I love this next series of images of Karlee and Thomas. We went to the beautiful gold doors at Horizons for some evening photos and I instructed Thomas to dip Karlee on the count of three. He dipped her perfectly the first time, then I asked them to do it again just to make sure I got it. He started dipping her, then said “trust fall!” and pretended to drop her! Of course he didn’t drop her, but we all cracked up, including Karlee! I love the expression on her face in the last image!)
