Caitlin & Chris {Portland/Grand Ledge Wedding Photographers}

Caitlin and Chris’ wedding day was full of all kinds of weather, but these two rolled with the punches and I so appreciated that! The day started off sunny and beautiful, but during the ceremony, we could hear the rain just coming down outside! After the ceremony was cold and rainy (right when we were doing portraits of the bride and groom and wedding party)! Then it cleared up while we were in the reception. Sigh. But I couldn’t have asked for better sports while taking photos of the bride and groom after the ceremony. We grabbed umbrellas, I put them under awnings and structures as much as possible, and after a few warm up breaks on the party bus, they were back outside and ready for more pictures. And as someone who experienced a lot of rain on her wedding day, I have to say that I love the unique qualities it brings to wedding photos. In some of the portraits of the bride and groom, you can see the raindrops coming down, and I love that.

It was my first time working at the Grand Loft in Grand Ledge and it’s such a cute place. Caitlin and Chris’ decor was classy and complimented the room perfectly. Also, they had donuts with their cake – love it! They even braved the cold again to step outside for some evening portraits in the downtown area.

I really loved working with the new Mr. and Mrs. Lay, their wedding party and families. Wishing them every happiness as husband and wife! – Bri
