Bridget and Mike are a super sweet couple and we had a wonderful time photographing their wedding!
The ceremony was held at St. Dominic Parish in Saginaw, a church that we have worked at quite a few times over the years and the church that Bridget grew up in. We were able to take some of the photos of Mike and his groomsmen outside before the ceremony and we thought maybe the weather would hold out all day – it was very cloudy but my weather app was predicting a 0% chance of rain. Well, they were wrong. During the ceremony it poured. Like full on, crazy downpour. The Priest’s message was accentuated by thunder claps and everything! The couple didn’t get flustered a bit. As a matter of fact when I was chatting with Bridget before the ceremony she simply said, “well I’m hoping for the best and expecting the worst” in reference to the weather.
After the ceremony, we ducked under a nearby awning outside of the school located adjacent to the church for a little protection from the rain for the wedding party photos. Then they hopped on the bus, the rain stopped, and we headed to Ojibway Island and Woody O’Brien’s in Saginaw.
Following some photos and fun, we headed to Horizon’s Conference Center for the celebration of this lovely couple. The evening was perfect: meaningful toasts, delicious food, lots of laughs shared, and a packed dance floor! We even got to see a Polish congratulation song/dance for the first time (I believe it’s called Stolac). After 15 years of photographing weddings we love when we can capture a tradition that we haven’t witnessed before!
Bridget & Mike: thank you for asking us to be your photographers! We had a wonderful time getting to know you both and working with you on your special day! We wish you many, many years of happiness together.
