Well, this year has been different for sure. We kicked off our wedding season in June, obviously a bit later than usual. But, what a wedding to start our year off right! Kristen and Mark were an absolute joy to photograph and are such a special couple. They are the kind of people that are considerate and kind and you love them within five minutes of meeting them. It was an honor to capture their wedding day and I can’t think of a single thing that could have made the day any better!
The ceremony was held at Cornerstone Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Brighton. The ceremony was personal and filled with worship music performed by Kristen’s brother and sister in law. Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents had arranged a surprise congratulatory parade of sorts. Friends and family members gathered outside of the church making a tunnel for the bride and groom to walk through, complete with cowbells and posters offering their best wishes. I was even getting emotional watching the outpouring of support from their loved ones!
We were able to spend a significant amount of time with the couple to capture some wonderful images of the two of them at Kristen’s parent’s property. They rounded out the celebration with toasts, their first dance, and an intimate dinner with their immediate family members. It was a perfect day.
We have been in the wedding industry for 18 years. This year has presented many challenges to couples planning their weddings and many have had to make hard compromises and decisions. Kristen and Mark prove simply that love conquers all. They vowed their lives to one another in a beautiful ceremony before God and their immediate family members and now they get to spend the rest of their lives with the person they love most in this world. And they did it full of grace with consideration and love for others. At the end of the day, isn’t that what matters most?
Kristen and Mark: we wish you a lifetime of love and happiness. May God richly bless your marriage! Thank you for asking us to be your photographers for such an important day in your lives! – Beth & Mike
